Warm, Understanding, and Here for Your Family

I know how overwhelming it can feel when your child is struggling. As a parent, you want to do everything you can to help. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. My goal is to create a supportive, welcoming space where kids and parents feel heard, understood, and encouraged.

My practice is grounded in openness, respect, and affirmation of all races, ethnicities, religions, genders, sexualities, and abilities.

Some areas of special interest include: anxiety, depression, ADHD and executive functioning challenges, peer difficulties, behavioral issues, anger management, and grief.

I believe every child and parent deserves to feel understood and supported. Taking the step to reach out is not always easy, but it can make a meaningful difference. I would be honored to walk alongside you on this journey.

My Background

I’ve spent over 25 years working in the mental health field, with experience in school settings, facilitating grief support groups, and coaching parents navigating developmental and behavioral challenges, as well as providing counseling.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan. Throughout my career, I’ve supported children, teens, and families through life’s ups and downs. I’ve seen how powerful it is when kids and parents feel connected and supported. That belief continues to inspire my work every day.

What You Can Expect

Each session is tailored to the needs of the child and family. Some children respond best through play and creative activities. Others thrive in open conversation. I use evidence-based strategies to address challenges like anxiety, stress, or behavioral struggles. Compassion and connection stay at the heart of everything I do. Parents are an important part of the process, and I partner with you to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change at home.

Each session offers:

  • A warm, safe environment for your child and family
  • Practical tools you can use outside of sessions
  • Collaboration and communication to keep you supported
  • A focus on growth, resilience, and connection

My Approach

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, play therapy techniques, sand tray, and mindfulness.

I view behavior through an interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB) lens, which focuses on the connections between the brain, the mind, and our relationships. By learning to understand our nervous system and its impact on our behaviors, we can deepen our understanding of the human experience, improve our mental health, and strengthen our connections with others.
